Class Attire - Leap Dance Center

All Classes:

Hair should be worn neatly and securely off the neck. No jewelry may be worn. No gum chewing or eating in class is allowed. There are no color requirements for leotards. Shirts and Nike shorts make great cover-ups, but they are not to be worn in class (Split Club and this year’s Recital shirt excluded!). Students not properly attired will not be allowed to participate in their class on that day. All required dance attire and shoe brands can be purchased through Leap Dance Center. ALL dance shoes MUST be purchased through Leap in order to guaranteed the correct brand, style and fit.

Creative Leaps:

Any color leotard, footed pink tights, and pink leather ballet shoes. Ballet shoes must be Weissman Stretch Ballet

Boys: Black pants and a white shirt. Black leather ballet shoes.

Little Leapers I & II:

Any color leotard, footed pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, and black patent leather tap shoes. Ribbons in tap shoes should be replaced with ¼ inch black elastic. Please do not buy shoes that are too big. A dance bag to carry their shoes in. Ballet shoe brands: Weissman Stretch Ballet. Tap shoe brand: Weissman No Tie.

Boys: Black pants and a white shirt. Black leather ballet shoes and black tap shoes. All shoes must be Weissman Stretch Ballet. Tap shoe brand: Weissman No Tie.

Kindergarten Ballet/Tap Combo:

Boys: Black pants and a white shirt. Black leather ballet shoes and black tap shoes. All shoes must be Weissman Stretch Ballet. Tap shoe brand: Weissman lace up.

1st Grade Ballet/Tap/Jazz Combo:

Any color leotard, convertible pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, black full leather sole tap shoes that lace up, and dark tan slip on jazz shoes. Please do not buy shoes that are too big. A dance bag to carry their shoes in. Ballet shoe brand: Capezio Hanami Leather. Tap shoe brand: Weissman Lace up Tap. Jazz shoe brand: Weissman low profile tan jazz shoe.

Boys: Black pants and a white shirt. Black leather ballet and jazz shoes, black tap shoes. Ballet shoe brand: Black Capezio Hanami Leather. Tap shoe brand: Weissman Lace up Tap. Jazz shoe brand: Weissman low profile black jazz shoe.

K/1st AcroDance:

Any color leotard, form fitting tops, sports bras, etc., dance shorts or leggings. No tights, skirted leotards, baggy t-shirts or loose-legged shorts. Hair needs to be in a bun or braided.

Hip Hoppity K/1st:

Leap Dance Center hip hop uniform (must be purchased through the office) and sparkle pop hip hop sneaker (must be purchased through Leap). No other clothing other than the uniform.

Boys: Athletic shorts and shirt. Weissman Canvas Tennis shoes.

Ballet:

Black leotard, pink tights, and pink leather ballet shoes. No skirts or shorts. Hair needs to be in a bun. Ballet shoes must be Capezio leather Hanami.

Jazz:

Any color leotard, form fitting tops, sports bras, etc., dance shorts or leggings, and dark tan slip on jazz shoes. No baggy t-shirts or loose-legged shorts. Jazz shoe brand: Weissman low profile dark tan.

Tap:

Any color leotard, form fitting tops, sports bras, etc., dance shorts or leggings, and black full leather sole tap shoes. Jason Samuels Smith tap shoes are recommended for upper level tap classes. Shim Sham or Weissman lace up tap shoes required for lower levels. No baggy t-shirts or loose-legged shorts.

Lyrical/Contemporary:

Any color leotard, form fitting tops, sports bras, etc., dance shorts or leggings, and canvas half-sole lyrical shoe. Half soles must be Capezio Hanami Pirouette. No baggy t-shirts or loose-legged shorts.

Hip Hop:

Leap Dance Center hip hop uniform (must be purchased through the office) and sparkle pop hip hop sneaker (must be purchased through Leap). No other clothing other than the uniform.

Boys: Athletic shorts and shirt. Weissman Canvas Tennis shoes.

Stretch & Strength/Drill Team Prep/Leaps & Turns:

AcroDance:

Any color leotard, form fitting tops, sports bras, etc., dance shorts or leggings. No tights, skirted leotards, baggy t-shirts or loose-legged shorts. Hair needs to be in a bun or braided.
